Workshop on Himalayan Ecosystem held

UMIAM: A meeting on  National Mission on Sustaining Himalayan Ecosystem (NMSHE), Task Force (TF-6) with the theme on ‘Sustainable agriculture for food nutritional and ecological security and for ameliorating climate change impacts in the Indian Himalayan Region (IHR)’ was held  at ICAR research Complex, Umiam, on Tuesday. Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi is implementing the mission. About 90 agricultural scientists and experts from across IHR, especially from North East attended the meeting.
S.V.Ngachan, director, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam,  presided the meeting and P.L.N. Raju, director, NESAC, Umiam, was the chief guest.
A.K.Tripathi, director, ATARI, Umiam and B.C.Deka, joint director, ICAR Research Complex, Nagaland Centre among others shared the activities by IISWC under NMSHE project.
