SHILLONG: Former Congressman J.T.S. Thongni, who recently ditched his party to join the UDP along with his supporters, has re-joined the Congress during a general meeting of Rambrai-Jyrngam Block Congress Committee (RJBCC) held on February 9.
On the same day the RJBCC also welcomed into its fold Overlin Nongsiej and Nestor along with their supporters from HSPDP.
Congress candidate from Rambrai for the upcoming MDC by-election, Kimfa Marbaniang, asserted that only the Congress can bring development, progress and growth in the entire area.
He also expressed confidence that the Congress will be able to win all the three KHADC seats in West Khasi Hills – Rambrai, Mairang & Mawthadraishan – for which by-elections are to be announced shortly.
