Teacher rescued
A teacher identified as Sengsram Marak, who was kidnapped from a village in West Khasi Hills district was rescued by the police on Tuesday night. According to police, three kidnappers were also arrested from Malangkhona village by the police on Wednesday.
Nokma’s signature forged; threatened
Jiffora N Marak lodged a complaint that one Hollitson Sangma forged the signature of Nokma of Rongrong Bolsongchokgre A’king (EGH), used fake seal etc., and also threatened the Nokma and his family members with dire consequences. The fake seal etc. were recovered on January 27 from Rubber Board Office at Mendipathar (NGH).
Woman duped of Rs. 20 lakh
Bikos Malngiang lodged a complaint that one Anastacia Malngiang recently cheated her by offering to sell a plot of land at Nongrah, Shillong for which she paid Rs. 20 lakh. Later, she found that the land documents were forged.
Accident
On February 8 at around 10 pm, an accident took place between one motorcycle (ML-05L-8825) ridden by Rahul Deb (24) and one Maruti local taxi (ML-05F-6008) driven by Ishongdor Mylliemngap (32) at Demseiniong, Shillong. As a result, one occupant of the local taxi and pillion rider of the motorcycle sustained injuries and were admitted at CH Shillong.
Assault
Raghunath Ray lodged a complaint that on February 8 at around 9.30 am, two persons identified as Zamir Khan (45) and Imran Khan (23) assaulted him and his son at New Kench’s Trace, Shillong. Victims sustained injuries and were admitted at Woodland Hospital, Shillong. Police arrested the accused.
Md. Imran Khan lodged a complaint that on February 8 at around 9.30 am, one Raghunath Ray assaulted him and his family members and also threatened them with dire consequences at New Kench’s’ Trace, Shillong.
On the afternoon of February 8, one Wanbok Tohtih (29) assaulted his four year old step son at Mawbeh village (EKH). Victim sustained injuries and was admitted at CH Shillong.
Man threatens woman, attempts rape
A woman of Ladthalaboh, Jowai (WJH) lodged a complaint that on February 5, her brother namely, Wansalan threatened her and her grandmother with dire consequences and also attempted to rape the complainant. Police arrested the accused.
Man stabbed
On February 9 at about 8.20 pm, one Istar Snaitang stabbed Lawanbok Shangdiar with a knife at Mawkyrwat market (SWKH). As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to CH Shillong. Police arrested the accused.
Counterfeit Drug License
M.A Jyrwa, Drugs Inspector, Williamnagar lodged a complaint on February 8 against one Pulbina N Sangma of Dobu Bazar (EGH) for possessing counterfeit Drug License in her name.
Theft
On February 8 night, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-08C-6040) belonging to Bablu Hajong from Hawakhana, Tura (WGH).
Unauthorized custody of school belongings
B.G Momin, District School Education Officer, Tura (WGH) lodged a complaint on February 7 that on January 12, DC, West Garo Hills informed him that one Md. Hanifuddin has taken delivery of computers and other accessories on behalf of Phersakandi Govt. Girls Secondary School. On enquiry, it transpired that Md. Hanifuddin was not an authorized person to collect the materials and had illegally received seven computers and other accessories from M/s Infotech, Shillong, kept the same in his house and failed to handover the materials to the School authorities till date.
