SHILLONG: Eighteen year old Ruthvika Shivani Gadde was elated at her “unexpected victory” over P V Sindhu at the 12th South Asian Games here on Wednesday. “Beating P V sindhu is the biggest achievement in my life and I was literally into happy tears. This is the first win against her. I have played with her few times; however, this win will give me a lot of confidence and will help me in future”. When asked about her expectation before facing Sindhu in the final, the eighteen year old replied, “I didn’t expect much from this game, I just wanted to play my game without thinking \about the results.” The badminton event of the 12th South Asian Games concluded on Wednesday,
