Theatre artists from B’desh, Meghalaya interact

SHILLONG: An interaction between theatre artists from Meghalaya and Bangladesh was hosted at the auditorium of the Asian Confluence Center on Friday, as part of the Asian Confluence Third Space events to foster people to people interaction across the borders.
Theatrical plays highlighting various themes on issues of social importance from several    theatre groups from Bangladesh and Meghalaya were enacted as part of the event.
Interaction between the participants of various theatre groups was the main attraction.
The performers’ passionate and graceful style kept the audience spellbound till the very end.
While BotTala represented Bangladesh, India was represented by four groups from Meghalaya.
The groups that represented India were SBUK which is the abbreviated form of Seng Biria U Khasi led by Leslie Harding Pde, KDUR which is the abbreviation of Kam Danda U Rangdajied led by Phira Rani, Kyrchanlang Theatrical Group and the Panaliar– Locality Theatre Group, both from Jowai.
By the end of the interaction, the language of art had won over and both sides left with new friends across their respective borders, who speak the language of the heart.
