Arunachal Guv asks for payment of all salaries

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor J P Rajkhowa has instructed payment of all the salaries, besides medical reimbursement and travelling allowance bills, of all the state government employees upto March 2016.
Reviewing the Revised Estimate 2015-16 and Budget Estimate for 2016-17 at Raj Bhavan here yesterday, the Governor said salaries of all government employees, including contract employees must be paid within the set time frame of March next, a Raj Bhawan communique informed here on Saturday.
The state annual development agenda for 2015-16 is Rs 5814.24 crore and revised estimate is Rs 4893.43 crore.
Fiscal consolidation is the priority of the state government, the communiqué said. An official at the state finance department informed that based on the budget estimate and revised estimate of 2015-16, the budget estimate for 2016-17 has been fixed tentatively as per laid down instruction from the Centre which would be finalised only after the Union budget.
Expressing concern over the welfare of the employees, Rajkhowa instructed that all the genuine medical reimbursement bills must be cleared.
He also directed payment of all travelling allowance (TA) bills.
The Governor gave special instruction for payment of police’s long pending TA bills amounting to Rs 20 crore within current financial year, the communique said. (PTI)
