Body of missing man exhumed

JOWAI: The body of one Riki Phawa of Kyndongtuber, who has been reportedly missing since August, 2015, was exhumed from a graveyard at Lumshnong village on Monday.
According to police, Phawa had committed suicide. His highly decomposed body was found hanging on a tree at Lumshnong village on September 2 last year. Police buried the body next day after post-mortem.
The exhumation was done after family members of the deceased lodged a missing complaint on Saturday at Pramer Traffic cell.
Police later informed the complainants that about the recovery of a body of a similar looking man.
On being informed, family members went to Lumshnong to verify the cloths of the deceased preserved by police and also the photographs and confirmed the identity of the deceased.
The body was later taken to his native village for the last right.
