Earlier several pressure groups including GSU had questioned the motive behind the commercial construction.
According to GSU, it had received information that 48 rooms are to be built and Rs. 30,000 has been collected from various investors in the guise of constructing a commercial building. The reports gathered by them suggested that 25 persons have benefitted from the collection.
Claiming to have learnt of several NOCs being given by vested interests allowing the construction to go ahead, the GSU had said that an RTI would be filed to reveal the corruption that is taking place in the school premises.
“We request the SMC to stop the construction immediately. We will coordinate with the FKJGP, ADE, AYWO and AIGU who raised the issue to get to the bottom of things. We will not allow such kind of corruption by vested interests and are ready to fight alongside the NGOs of Tikrikilla against the issue,” the GSU had warned.
