SHILLONG: Though the pending case related to rape accused police officer Nurul Islam was scheduled to come up for hearing on Friday in a lower court, the matter was deferred as Islam was not produced in the court.
When contacted, the lawyer dealing with the case said that Islam was not produced before the court since he was unwell.
“He is still in Civil Hospital, but his condition is improving,” the advocate said.
During the last two hearings, the witnesses were present, but the matter could not be taken up due to the ill health of the accused.
The case will come up for hearing after two weeks.
