SHILLONG: The proscribed Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) and the Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) are trying to revive themselves in Bangladesh.
Revealing this here on Saturday, a senior BSF official said that both outfits have started recruiting people in the areas close to Indo-Bangla border.
Interestingly, this revelation has come at a time when both the outfits, reportedly, have sent feelers to the state government to initiate dialogue.
The official said that BSF has already taken up the matter   with Border Guard Bangladesh and BGB is making all efforts   to ensure that insurgent outfits do not raise their ugly head again.
The GNLA, one of the most dreaded outfits in Garo Hills, recently expressed its willingness to come forward for talks. The outfit had even asked the state government to appoint an interlocutor for holding negotiations.
The state government  has also made it clear that it is “keen” and “open” for dialogues with proscribed outfits like GNLA and HNLC  provided they abjure violence.
