Shillong hotelier starts hotel in Assam

The Guwahati Address designed to attract tourists

SHILLONG: The city based hotelier Larsing Ming Sawyan has opened ‘The Guwahati Address’, a twenty room boutique hotel, in Guwahati on Friday giving fillip to tourism infrastructure.
The Chief Minister of Assam, Tarun Gogoi was present on the occasion.
The hotel is the latest addition to the Centre Point Group Enterprise (CPGE), a local creative business house having its origins and headquarters in Shillong- famed for having created unique hospitality products such as Ri Kynjai, the Centre Point Shillong, Royal Heritage – Tripura Castle and Café Shillong.
Assam Chief Minister said that he was impressed with the concept and design of the hotel and the way local and regional resources have been used to effectively provide the visitor a taste of the North-East.
The hotel also has a speciality restaurant aptly named “Weaves and Leaves” that serves cuisines from the Eastern part of the country starting from the Gangetic Delta to the Brahmaputra Valley across the blue hills of the North East besides cuisine from the Orient and South East Asia.
The hotel will be equipped with a 50 seater banquet hall along with a Café, a bar and a Tea Lounge that shall pay homage to Assam’s Tea Heritage.
The Assam Tea Lounge will aim to give the visitor an opportunity to saviour tea from some of Assam’s finest gardens and provide them a tangible platform to enhance their knowledge on the history of Assam Tea.
“At Centre Point Group Enterprise – Hospitality, we pursue to harness our local resources and showcase the art and culture of the region in a platform of pride and solemnity”, said Ming, Managing Director, Centre Point Group Enterprise.
