Illegal transport of logs in West Jaintia Hills

SHILLONG:  Two truck drivers fled away after they were detected transporting round logs in a forest in West Jaintia Hills.
Police said that the incident happened on February  18, when staff of Territorial Division, Jowai conducted checking at Bamkamar (WJH) and detected two trucks (ML-04-4495) and (AS-01DD-1743) while they were transporting round logs without valid documents. However, on seeing the Forest personnel, the truck drivers fled away.
