SHILLONG: The Hills State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) Laban Unit, has sought the East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) intervention into the confusion prevailing over the distribution of ration cards to beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act, 2013.
In a letter to the DC, PS Dkhar, president of HSPDP’s Laban unit, Banri Wahlang said that the names of the beneficiaries have been shifted to different fair price shops and people are struggling to trace the same.
He stated that the move has affected the uneducated section of the people in the area.  He, however, expressed satisfaction over the fact that after the DC was apprised of the matter the Superintendant of Supply assured to look into it.
