FIR lodged after detection of dumped coal

SHILLONG:  Illegal dumping of coal at Seventh Mile, Upper Shillong was detected on Wednesday in addition to the dumping of coal at Mawngap outpost a day before in violation of the NGT order.
Earlier on Tuesday, after the illegal dumping of coal was assessed by the local commissioner of NGT, an FIR was lodged with the police.
The local commissioner, Rosanna Lyngdoh, in the FIR said that around 200 truck-load of coal were dumped at Laitpynter village at Mawngap.
The FIR said the driver of the truck (ML05 H-7155) had in his possession transport challan showing that coal belonged to one Violet Pyngrope which has been sold to a person named Mahavir.
There is also a permit form 37 in the name of G.S. Traders of Nangalbibra which is incomplete.
The NGT commissioner has asked police to book the owner of the land where coal was dumped, the truck owners and the persons whom the coal belonged to.
