SHG organises free medical camp in West Khasi Hills

SHILLONG: The Ngi Rulshon Self Help Group, West Khasi Hills, recently organised a free medical camp cum awareness programme on Japanese Encephalitis and Malaria at Ladweitang L.P. School under Nongstoin Syiemship in West Khasi Hills.
The programme was attended by several doctors from the District Medical & Health Office, Nongstoin, including Dr. R. Laloo and Dr. I. Ryntathiang, Dr. Nonglang the in charge of Riangdo PHC and Dr. Mawkhiew, in charge of Mairang CHC, assisted by a team of nurses and pharmacists.
The programme was also attended by two instructors S. Lyngdoh and R. Nongsiej.
Residents of Ladweitang and Mawiong Lumsyntiew villages received detailed instruction on Japanese Encephalitis and Malaria from Lyngdoh.
While a speech on family planning was delivered by R. Nongsiej, Dr. R. Laloo spoke on immunization. Free medicines were also distributed to the needy patients.
While former MDC N. Nongdkhar was the chief guest on the occasion, E. Nongshyllong, headman of Ladweitang and village elder Ebrayan Lyngdoh chaired the programme. Pynhunborlang Kyrpang M Lyngdoh, president of the village, also spoke on the occasion.
