BSF to initiate civic action programme for border students

SHILLONG: In a series of different civic action programmes organized by BSF in border areas, 73 Bn BSF has organized a civic action programme for the border population at BOP Gumagahat near Ranikore district of South West Khasi Hills.
BSF has come up with a novel idea of civic action programme wherin the young population of the border is likely be benefitted in the long run.
Due to the backwardness of the border areas with respect to IT and digitalization,  73 Bn BSF has established two computer labs in border area, one at BOP Gumaghat and the other at BOP Karaigora.
These labs will run under the supervision of BSF instructors for the youths of border area. This will not only help them in performing various e-commerce businesses in future but will also help in their career in the times to come.
The courses/ training will be organized in a flexible as per the convenience of the students. There will be classes on week day as well as on weekends so that students can avail the facilities without compromising their studies. On completion of this training, the students will be tested and successful students will be issued certificates for the IT skills.
