SHILLONG: The State Government has decided to go ahead with the implementation of the Food Security Scheme while giving room for inclusion of more beneficiaries whose names did not find place in the current list.
Informing this here on Saturday, the Principal Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies, PW Ingty said that those who availed their ration cards can get the benefits and others who are genuine aspirants can still fill up forms and apply for the scheme.
Earlier on Friday, during the meeting of the pressure groups including KSU, the Chief Minister Mukul Sangma had hinted that he would defer the full implementation of the scheme.
However, clarifying to this, Ingty said that the Government would only go slow before the full implementation of the scheme to give room for eligible candidates to be listed.
