22 retired teachers feted in West Khasi Hills

NONGSTOIN: The Meghalaya Government Primary School Teachers Associati-on (MGPSTA) Nongstoin Unit, in a function held on Saturday  at SGSY hall Block Office Nongstoin facilitated 22 retired teachers, for their service in this past years in spreading education.
D. Jyndiang, local MLA was the chief guest.
Jyndiang addressing at the felicitation programme said that although one gets retired from teaching, he has chances to contribute and indulge in positive works to shape the society with the experience.
“Drastic decisions will lead to drastic achievements and it requires experienced teachers to maintain balance,” he said.
The MLA also said that institutions play a vital role in nation-building and teachers are the primary base of any institution.
“They are not solely employees but builders of the nation, they can never be superannuated”, he added.
The chief guest also awarded the 22 retired teachers during the programme to recognize their  contribution to the society.
