KHADC to examine rules for distribution of funds to MDCs

SHILLONG: The KHADC will examine and follow guidelines laid down under the Special Assistance Scheme which allocate shares out of Rs 133.12 crore to the 23 MDCs of the Council.
Replying to a motion by Shella MDC T. Dkhar on how the money would be divided among the MDCs, Executive Member Neil Antonio War said, “After the guidelines have been examined, the allocation of the amount will be done for the year 2015-16.”
It may be mentioned that, following a request made by a delegation of Forum of Councils under Sixth Schedule the Union government has sanctioned Rs 267.4 crore for the three ADCs under the Special Assistance scheme. The KHADC was allocated Rs 133.12 crore, while the GHADC and the JHADC will receive Rs 100.71 crore and Rs 33.57 crore, respectively.
