Shillong Salesian family meets ‘Don Bosco’

SHILLONG: The Shillong region Salesian family and others met together at 5:30pm here at the Don Bosco Technical School Shillong around the relic of Don Bosco their father and founder for a solemn Eucharistic celebration.
The relic of Don Bosco arrived in the city on February 26 last and it was kept for public veneration at the Don Bosco Technical School.
Various groups and individuals paid their homage and prayed through the intercession of this lover of the young throughout the week.  The relic that has performed various miracles including the miraculous healing of Larisa Khongsit from Sohra in 2011, will depart on March 6 to the Don Bosco Shrine Cherrapunjeat 6:00am and it will be placed there permanently. The auspicious encounter with Don Bosco in the form of the celebration of the Holy Eucharist was presided by Fr. Olphindro Paul Lyngkot sdb, the vice provincial of the St. John Paul II province concelebrated by salesian many priests from the city.
The Vice Provincial said that “Don Bosco invites us to preserve our call for fidelity to our vocation”.
He also said that the Salesian family needs to be like Don Bosco through faithfully following the spirit of various Salesian family constitutions.
