TURA: The efforts put in by late P A Sangma to shift the primary education in Meghalaya from the control of autonomous district councils to the State Government in the early 1990s for better streamlining of the primary education was fondly remembered by the teaching fraternity.
A special condolence meeting was organised during the general meeting of the All Meghalaya Primary School Teachers’ Association at Singra, Kamrup on Saturday.A two minute silence was observed in memory of P A Sangma and a condolence message was read out.
The work of Sangma which led to a great improvement and strengthening of the education system for children in Meghalaya was recalled.
