Guwahati: The police  on Tuesday prevented BJP workers of Patacharkuchi unit from ransacking and locking up the party’s office in Guwahati. The workers were reportedly irked over BJP’s alliance with AGP for coming Assam polls. The agitators said that newly-inducted leader Himanta Biswa Sarma, who was formerly with Congress, was to blame for the alliance which was “in his own political interest”. BJP’s chief ministerial candidate Sarbananda Sonowal told reporters later, he has urged his party men to set aside differences and work unitedly in the party’s interest.(PTI)
