Five held for coal mining  
SHILLONG: Five workers were arrested for extracting coal from a quarry in East Jaintia Hills.
Police apprehended five labourers on March 5 and they have been identified as Romesh Lama, Mohan Rajbongshi, Gonesh Rai Rajbongshi, Khlurunido Boro and Ari Rajbongshi. They were extracting coal from the quarry of one Kot Dkhar at Nongthymme, police added.

Driver’s body recovered
SHILLONG:  The body of a sumo driver was recovered on March 5 from the forest at Rymbai in East Jaintia Hills.
The deceased identified as Raj Rai, who was reportedly missing since March 2, is suspected to be murdered.

Girl missing
SHILLONG: A school student in West Garo Hills has gone missing.
Sombari Ch Marak, a student of Boldampitbari SSA U.P School, left for her classes on February 24 this year  and was missing since then.
One Tuestina Marak of Boldampitbari village (West Garo Hills) has lodged a complaint in this regard.
