SHILLONG: The United Hynniewtrep Movement (UHM) North Khasi Hills condemned the acts perpetuated by miscreants against the environment resulting in the killing of fishes at Umtung River and forest fires.
In a statement to the press, they urged the miscreants not to create any environmental hazards as forests and rivers are bearing the brunt of forests fires.
On the other hand the NGO objected over the obscene film posters pasted on cinema halls considering it as derogatory to the society as a whole.
The association urged cinema hall owners avoid obscene pictures otherwise the association will be compelled to tear the posters, and informed that they will meet the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills so as to keep a tab on the posters of certain movies.
