SHILLONG: The Hynniewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF) has expressed strong objection to the appointment of a non-tribal as Accounts Officer in the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC).
Addressing press conference on Friday, president of HNYF’s Raliang circle, Donbok Dkhar, said that the association has given the Council 10 days time to remove PK Deb, the Accounts officer who has been appointed  on contractual basis.
Dkhar said, “Delay in removing him from the post will prompt us to agitate.”
The association contended that preference for appointment to the post should have been given to local youths.
“The appointment violates the State’s reservation policy since there was only one vacant post,” the HNYF said adding that the JHADC should have duly advertised the post before appointing anyone.
