SHILLONG: The villagers of Shiliang-Um, Mawkyrwat have proposed Mawsaw village for setting up of a C&RD block in South West Khasi Hills District.
This was informed by Commander Shangpliang, Khasi film director and a resident of the village said there was demand for creation of a block by the villagers who convened meeting twice, on August 2014 and 26 February, 2015 to discuss the matter.
He added that for a long time, the villagers’ desired to have a C& RD.
Moreover, they learnt from media reports of the State Government’s intention to form more blocks as well.
Shangpliang added that a Block Demand Committee will be formed demanding the creation of Mawsaw C& RD block, who will apprise the Deputy Commissioner of South West Khasi Hills of the demand on March 23.
