Chandigarh: Opposition Congress on Tuesday staged a noisy walkout from the Punjab Assembly after the Speaker disallowed their no confidence motion against the SAD-BJP alliance government in the state.
While Speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal maintained that the notice about such a motion should reach him at least one hour before the commencement of session, Leader of Opposition Charanjit Singh Channi was adamant that he did it as per the rules.
“CM has no right to continue. I have brought a no confidence motion against the CM and his council of ministers,” Channi said even as the Speaker categorically told the opposition that their motion had been rejected. (Agencies)
