Rape
On March 20, one Bikash Chettri (20) raped one 24-year-old woman at Nongpoh (RB).
Molester arrested
One woman lodged a complaint that on March 24 at around 8.45 am, one Santosh Singha (26) molested her in a local taxi. Police arrested the accused.
One found hanging
On March 23 at around 5 pm, body of one Reskaphur Nongsiej (36) was found hanging in a potato godown at Tiehbah village under Sohiong outpost (EKH).
Minor, woman among 4 knocked down
On March 23 at around 4.30 pm, one vehicle (number not known) knocked down one minor boy namely, Bandaplin Rynjah (8) at Langkyrdem under Pynursla PS (EKH). Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Woodland Hospital, Shillong. Earlier on March 21 at around 5.30 pm, one vehicle (number not known) knocked down a 42-year-old woman identified as Diangpi Diengdoh at Lower Lachumiere. Victim sustained injuries and was admitted at CH Shillong. Later on March 24 at around 2 am, one vehicle (number not known) knocked down two persons, Finanstar Khongjee (27) and Pharshonstone Khongsit (27) at 5th Mile, Upper Shillong causing injuries to them.
Witchcraft case
On March 23 at around 2 pm, one Manisha Kharumnuid (20) and others went to the working place of one Ringborlang Kurkalang at Laitkseh, Smit (EKH) and beat him up with broomsticks accusing him of practicing witchcraft.
Assault
On March 23 at around 8.45 pm, one Santosh Kumar Rai assaulted three persons namely, Ram Shankar Rai (65), Anil Kumar Rai (20) and Rachika Devi (19) at Rynjah.
Murder
On March 22 night, unknown miscreants murdered one Shanlang Thangkhiew (22) at Krohmariang, New Jirang under Patharkhmah out-post in Ri Bhoi.
Indecent act
The M & HO, PHC Dobu (EGH) lodged a complaint that on March 21 at around 9 pm, during her absence, one unidentified person broke into her quarter at the PHC compound and slept on her bed.
