SHILLONG: Health Minister AL Hek, who went to the Civil Hospital, Shillong on Wednesday to get an MRI test done, was forced to return without accomplishing the task as the MRI machine in the hospital was found to be out of order.
Ironically, on the occasion of World Health Day on Thursday a notice at the “front window” of the hospital read “MRI machine temporarily out of service”.
When contacted the Health Minister said, “I personally went there to get an MRI done but found that the machine was not working. I have asked the Medical Superintendent to immediately put it in order.”
On being asked as to how long it would take for the machine to be in order, he said, “It will take time since they will have to call persons from the company and rectify the machine.”
