Concern over throwing of liquor bottles at Mawphlang during Monolith fest

SHILLONG: The Hynniewtrep Social Welfare Organization (HSWO) has expressed concern over the presence of liquor bottles during the Monolith Festival held recently at Mawphlang.
In a statement issued to the press on Friday, the organization stated that it is derogatory to have liquor bottles thrown indiscriminately in the area where the Festival was organised. The organization has urged the people behind the Festival to adopt stringent measures to check the menace of alcoholism.
