SHILLONG: The CSWO (Irene) has submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Mukul Sangma demanding appointment of a Special Prosecutor to handle the case relating to the rape and murder of 19-year-old Shailinia Kharrymba at Upper Shillong.
The organization led by Irene Hujon has urged the chief minister to appoint Additional Advocate General W.H.D. Syngkon who had earlier been appointed as Special Prosecutor in a case relating to Corphilia Nongkynrih who was murdered by Tenderlywell Hynniewta in 2002.
The CSWO (I) also demanded death sentence for the accused and his accomplices, if any.
Stating that the gruesome rape and murder is not only condemnable but despicable, the organization said such crimes should be dealt with a firm hand.
