Workshop on crime against women and children held

SHILLONG: A two-day workshop for sensitizing teachers, community leaders and youths on ‘Crime against Women and Children’: their roles and responsibilities in preventing it” was organized by an NGO called SPARK at Pongkung Village from April 8 that successfully concluded on April 11 at Traishnong, Mawlynrei Village, Shillong.
The programme was supported by Govt of Meghalaya under Chief Minister’s Youth Devp Fund through the office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District, Meghalaya. The chief guest for the programme at Pongkung Village was A. L. Mawlong, MCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner while at Mawlynrei village, the chief guest who addressed the crowd was Pyniaid Sing Syiem, MDC, 6-Sohryngkham Constituency.  Around 300 people participated in the workshop.
