Man threatened
Philington Lyngdoh lodged a complaint that one Richard Kharbani (24) demanded Rs. 1 lakh over phone and threatened him with dire consequences if he failed to pay the amount. Last week, police arrested the accused person from Mawkarah village in West Khasi Hills.
2 coal laden trucks seized
Two coal laden trucks were seized for using fake Challans in Dainadubi in North Garo Hills. K Marak, I/c DMR Check Gate, Dainadubi lodged a complaint that on April 9 at around 11 pm, two coal laden trucks (AS-18A-4477 & AS-18-7996) were found using fake challans. Both the vehicles were seized and the matter is under investigation.
22-yr-old girl allegedly raped
Police arrested a person for allegedly raping a 22 year old girl at Laitlyngkot village in East Khasi Hills.  The incident took place on April 7 at around 3.30 pm, when one Cereca Pohiong (26) raped one 22 year old girl at Laitlyngkot village.
Body recovered
Police recovered the body of a person with injury marks. On April 9, the body of Rapborwel Nonglait (38) with injury marks was recovered from Mukhla village. Necessary formalities were observed and the cadaver was handed over to relatives the next day.
