SHILLONG: Self styled ‘commander in chief’ of GNLA Sohan D Shira will not come forward for talks without the involvement of jailed GNLA chairman Champion Sangma.
In a quick reply to a query posed to him after he was produced before the lower court here on Wednesday in connection with a pending case, Champion told this scribe that Sohan will not come forward for talks without his (Champion’s) involvement.
Earlier, the GNLA had also stressed the need of involving Champion to facilitate talks as he was dealing with the political matters related to the outfit in the capacity of the chairman of the group.
The stand of the State government is that it is willing to have dialogue with GNLA provided that the outfit gives up violence.
