SHILLONG: As a mark of recognition to their selfless service, 12 Anganwadi workers and helpers from Upper Mawprem Anganwadi Center were felicitated by Sanbor Shullai, MLA on Thursday.
The function was organized by the Greater Laban Community Development Society (GLCDS) and other prominent people were present on the occasion.
Sanbor Shullai while speaking on the occasion said that felicitation will be organized every year in order to encourage such workers who have been contributing to the welfare and interest of the society despite meager salary which should be appreciated by all.
The Anganwadi workers were felicitated with gift hampers and certificates. Ma Khroo Shullai who was the longest serving Rangbah Shnong for more than 50 years and is at present the advisor to the Dorbor Shnong was also felicitated on this occasion and despite being 103 years of age, he is still active and in good health.
The gathering prayed for his health and wished that he would continue to remain strong and healthy in the years to come.
