Speed guns to keep tab on over speeding

SHILLONG: The Traffic department will use speed guns to put a tab on speeding vehicles in the State.
Pernod Ricard India (P) Ltd. on Wednesday as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility handed over five speed guns to the State government.
The speed guns were handed over to J. Lyngdoh, Commissioner & Secretary, Home (Police) Department, and F. Kharlyngdoh, Commissioner & Secretary, Home Department, at a function held here.
M. Kharmujai, Commissioner and Secretary, Transport handed over a speed gun to A. Mawthoh, DIG, Eastern Range.
Police officials said that Meghalaya police had been using the speed guns before and these additional speed guns would further help police in checking cases of rash driving and over speeding in the State.
The company also handed over seven breath analyzers to check cases of drunk driving in different parts of the State.
