SHILLONG: A 35 year old woman succumbed to her injuries on Thursday after being allegedly assaulted by her husband in Ri Bhoi district few days earlier.
According to police, one Deben Boro, a labourer working at Sharma Stone Quarry, assaulted his wife Junu Boro at Iewmawlong Nongpoh in Ri Bhoi causing injuries to her.
She succumbed to her injuries on Thursday while being shifted to Nongpoh Civil Hospital.
Police arrested the accused and the matter is under investigation.
