Ramakrishna Mission distributes free garments to villagers

SOHRA: The Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama at Cherrapunjee (Sohra) organised an adult garment distribution programme to the poor and needy adults of Nartiang region, West Jaintia Hills District on Wednesday.
Like the preceding ones, this distribution programme was also done in collaboration with ITC Limited (Headquarter at Kolkata), as a part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scheme of the latter.
The villagers and headmen from Nartiang, Mupliang, Moobandu, Rakanbah, Mynsngat, Musiaw, Tymphu, Nongjngi, Moorap, Umsalang, Ummulong, Thradbamon, Kairang, Nongjrong, Mukroh, and Myrjai participated in garment distribution. Biloris Lyndem graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.  The garments includes blazers, sweaters, shirts, t-shirts’ & trousers for adults. Garments covering a net worth about Rs 8.70 lakh were distributed among a total number of 390 residents, comprising of 215 females and 175 males, of the eight villages
