SHILLONG: A minor girl who was arrested for stabbing a person, who had allegedly attempted to rape her, was released on bail on Thursday.
The 17 year old girl was kept inside police lockup for three days and another two days inside Shillong jail after police arrested her for the incident.
After her release on bail, the teenager said she had stabbed the person to save herself from being raped.
The incident came to light after she landed at Nongstoin police station on April 23 claiming that she had stabbed one Mohan Gurung who had attempted to rape her on the night of April 22.
She was arrested at the police station itself.
