SHILLONG: After Laban, now the LPG consumers in Nongthymmai have petitioned East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner PS Dkhar complaining about irregular supply of LPG cylinders by Sunny Gas Agency.
In a memorandum submitted to the DC, the consumers alleged that Sunny Gas Agency supplied LPG cylinders only once in two months causing immense problem to the public.
The consumers also alleged instead of the mandatory 12 cylinders a year the concerned gas agency was supplying only eight.
“They also violated the agreement made in front of the Deputy Commissioner for home delivery of LPG cylinders. We have to pay extra money for carriage,” consumers alleged in the memorandum while seeking the DC’s intervention into the matter.
When contacted, Dkhar said that he had a discussion with the officials of the Indian Oil Corporation on the issue of supply of LPG cylinders in the city. “From Monday, we will have one full time IOC official for Shillong and it will be easier for me to monitor the situation,” Dkhar added.
