SHILLONG: A tourist from Kolkata has filed an FIR against a driver of a tourist taxi for allegedly stealing Rs 2500 from his wife’s handbag near Dawki border.
The tourist, Subhankar Nandy, in the FIR lodged at Sadar police station said that though they don’t remember the name of the driver, the latter was driving a white Swift Dzire, registered in Meghalaya bearing no. 3794.
“The complaint is meant to help keep watch on errant drivers to prevent such unfortunate occurrence in a popular tourist place like Shillong,” he said.
