Assam Chief Minister in hospital, recuperating

Guwahati: Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi who was admitted to Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) here on Saturday evening after he had complained of some abdominal disorder, is stated to have recovered fast and likely to be released soon.
Hospital officials informed that the octogenarian chief minister was under constant observation of a team of doctors after he had been subjected to necessary investigation. His condition was stated to be stable and likely to be released from the hospital within a couple of days. Gogoi fell sick after he had come back from a brief holiday abroad. He was preparing to go to his constituency at Titabor by a helicopter on Saturday when he complained of minor ailment.
Gogoi (82) who has been chief minister since 2001, had undergone multiple surgeries including a by-pass in the year 2010. He had led the campaign of Congress party in the recently held Assembly election in the state and travelled the length and breadth of the state during the election campaign notwithstanding his ripe age.
Senior Congress leader Sarat Barkotoky , who visited Gogoi in the hospital, said that the chief minister has recuperated well and there was no cause for worry at all.
