BSF DG on visit to Meghalaya Frontier

SHILLONG: Consequent to his taking over as the Director General of BSF, K.K. Sharma is on a visit to the Meghalaya Frontier. The DG arrived in the State on Sunday and visited the border area. He also reviewed the security situation on the border as well as in counter insurgency operation in Meghalaya where BSF is deployed. The DG while addressing the jawans and officers exhorted them to maintain utmost vigil on the border and ensure security of the border and border population. The DG also held a conference of top BSF officials at Frontier HQ, BSF Shillong where P.K. Dubey, IG BSF Meghalaya Frontier presented an overview of border management in the Meghalaya. He also desired to conduct civic action plan to improve the quality of life and welfare of the border population, upgrade the existing infrastructure and create new avenues for bringing positive changes in the life of the border population. On Monday, the BSF DG paid a visit to the remote border outposts of Pyrdwah and Harai and interacted with the border population.
