Mob kills Bangladeshi national in West Garo Hills

SHILLONG: A Bangladeshi national was assaulted by locals at Kharonggre village in West Garo Hills and later succumbed to his injuries. Police said that on May 1, residents of Kharonggre village assaulted one Bangladeshi national Ribibul Islam (20) while he was moving suspiciously in the area. On receipt of information, police rushed to the spot and rescued the foreign national and sent him for medical examination. However, he died while being taken back to Dalu police station. The cadaver was sent to Tura Civil Hospital for post mortem examination and has been kept at the morgue. The West Garo Hills district administration is taking necessary action with its Bangladeshi counterpart, it was informed. In another incident on April 29, BSF personnel of Dawki BOP apprehended one Bangladeshi national Noor Hasan Sabir (20) who was moving in Indian territory without any valid documents.
