City residents forced to work as servants in Chennai

SHILLONG: An alleged case of cheating, six persons from the city have filed an FIR against one Rosita War for allegedly cheating them on the pretext of providing jobs for them in Chennai.
As per the FIR, the accused woman, Rosita War, had promised them jobs in a missionary guest house in Chennai and also promised them opportunities to pursue their higher studies.
However, on reaching Chennai they were forced to work as servants in private homes.
Finding no alternative, they were forced to work there for sometimes despite facing harassment from the owners.     The six people worked there for two months after which they managed to return to Shillong.
The affected persons claimed that they were not allowed to come out of the houses and were only allowed to go out accompanied by their masters.
