Sec 144 CrPC
The District Magistrate, Ri Bhoi District, has promulgated an order under Section 144 CrPC prohibiting parking of commercial vehicles and coal laden trucks on the premises of petrol pumps or service centres within the district and also parking of more than two heavy commercial vehicles or coal trucks in one place between Pahamrioh and Umling on NH 40.

Street play
6 Innovative Ideas, a group of young people along with school students will perform a street play on Wednesday at Police Bazaar at 2 PM.
Dry days
The West Garo Hills deputy commissioner has ordered closure of all wine stores, bars, canteen and bonded warehouses in the district on May 14, 15, 16 and 19 in view of the upcoming by-election to the Tura Lok Sabha seat. The Excise staffs have been directed to ensure that the dry days are strictly observed.
Labour Day
International Labour Day was organized by the Sub-Divisional Labour Office, Khliehriat, in collaboration with the District Legal Service Authority, East Jaintia Hills, at a function held at Star Cement Hall, Lumshnong, East Jaintia Hills, on Monday. Addl. Deputy Commissioner K.L. Nongbri was the chief guest. The meeting was attended by workers of different cement plants in the district.
Centenary
The centenary sports and closing ceremony of St. Edmund’s School will be held on May 5 from 9 AM onwards.
Urs
The Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Shah Noor Mohammed will be held on May 6 on the premises of Mazar Shareef, Lower Lumparing. The programme will commence at 9 AM. The organizers have invited the general public to take part in the spiritual gathering.
