SHILLONG: Former Indian cricket team captain Mohammad Azharuddin and film star Nagma will campaign  for the Congress candidate for Tura by-poll Dikkanchi Shira.
Sources said that the matter was communicated to the election functionaries by the Congress in Garo Hills, but the date of campaign is yet to be fixed.
Azharuddin is a former Congress MP also.
The Congress has roped in the star campaigners particularly to woo voters from the minority community in Garo Hills.
None of the political stalwarts of the party from the Centre will be campaigning for the party candidate this time in Garo Hills since they will have to concentrate on three southern states which will go to polls on the same day on May 16.
