SHILLONG: East Garo Hills and North Garo Hills districts recorded 100 pass percentages in the HSSLC 2016 Examinations (Commerce) results for which were declared by the MBOSE on Monday.
In the HSSLC Science stream, East Jaintia Hills with a pass percentage of 89.66 topped the district wise chart, followed by West Khasi Hills (83.18%).
The district wise pass percentage in the Science stream is – East Khasi Hills (76.96%), West Khasi Hills (83.18%), Ri Bhoi (63.92%), West Garo Hills (68.24%), East Garo Hills (73.08%), South Garo Hills (75%), South West Khasi Hills (78.82%), West Jaintia Hills (72.735), East Jaintia Hills (89.66%), North Garo Hills (39.19%) and South West Garo Hills (50%).
In the Commerce stream, the district wise pass percentage recorded is – East Khasi Hills (72.26%), West Khasi Hills (67.74%), Ri Bhoi (76.12%), West Garo Hills (55.67%), South West Khasi Hills (81.82%), West Jaintia Hills (57.14%), East Jaintia Hills (81.82%), East Garo Hills (100%) and North Garo Hills (100%).
Incidentally, South Garo Hills and South West Garo Hills districts did not record any pass percentage for the Commerce stream as there was no student in the two districts studying the Commerce stream.
Only three schools, all from West Khasi Hills, achieved cent per cent pass percentage in the Science stream. Anderson Higher Secondary School (20 regular candidates), Upper New Nongstoin; Sibsing Memorial Government Higher Secondary School (12 regular and 2 non regular candidates), Nongstoin, and St. Peters’ Higher Secondary School (16 regular candidates), Pyndengrei, achieved the honours.
Anderson Higher Secondary School (7 regular and 1 non regular candidate) managed a double by achieving cent per cent result in the Commerce stream as well along with six other schools in the State.
Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (7 regular candidates) at Mendal, West Garo Hills and Loyola Higher Secondary School (33 candidates) at Williamnagar, East Garo Hills featured in the list of schools with 100 per cent pass percentage in Commerce stream.
In Shillong, Christian Academy Higher Secondary School (16 regular candidates), Nongthymmai Nepali Higher Secondary School (50 regular candidates) and Rilbong PN Chaudhuri Higher Secondary School (6 regular candidates), secured a 100 per cent pass percentage.
Among other schools that recorded a cent per cent pass percentage are Alpha English Higher Secondary School (27 regular candidates), Nongpoh and Mawryngkneng higher Secondary School (12 regular candidates).
Results for the Vocational stream were also declared with 5 out of six candidates clearing their examinations securing a total percentage of 83.33.
Three students secured first division while two students came in the second division.
Speaking on the performance of the differently abled candidates, T.R. Laloo, Controller of Examinations, Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE), Tura, said there were very few candidates and it cannot be reflected along with regular candidates.
