SHILLONG: BSF troops of BOP Lyngkhat and Tuka deployed in East Khasi Hills seized 22 cattle from the bordering area.The special ambush party of BSF laid a trap while some smugglers along with cattle were proceeding towards Bangladesh. The BSF party blocked the suspected area. A thorough search was carried out and 22 cattle worth Rs 3.6 lakh was seized from the Indo-Bangladesh border. However the cattle carriers/smugglers managed to flee taking advantage of darkness and thick foliage.
