Hate speech: BJP awaits RO action

TURA: The BJP has decided to await the ‘action’ by the Returning Officer to Tura By-Election Pravin Bakshi on the ‘hate speech’ campaign of the Congress before filing an FIR.
“Congress candidate in her speeches targeted the BJP without any basis and violated Section 153-A of the IPC by promoting enmity between ( different communities. If the Returning Officer fails to act we will file the FIR,” said Nalin Kohli while speaking to the media here on Monday.
The Congress candidate Dikkanchi D Shira stands accused of alleged ‘hate speeches’.
BJP leaders’ visit: Top BJP leaders of the country including Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju along with the party’s chief ministerial candidate for Assam Sarbananda Sonowal and the Tribal Affairs minister Juel Oram are arriving in Garo Hills to campaign for NPP candidate Conrad Sangma, this week.Informing this, Kohli informed Oram would be meeting Garo Hills voters during his campaign this week.
The party’s minority wing president Abdul Rashid is also due to campaign in the minority dominated plain belt region of West Garo Hills for three days, beginning Thursday.
